Professional MC Services

From MCing a Wedding to Hosting a Private, Public or Corporate Event, we can tailor an MC Service to suit your requirements.

What's the role of an MC?

An MC (Master of Ceremonies) or sometimes called “Host” is a crucial part of any event that has many “moving parts”, formalities and requires structure in order to get through the event timeline “on time”! Equally important is the ability to provide communication to guests and attendees periodically throughout the event to ensure the event not only runs smoothly, but also to keep the event dynamic, informative and fun for everyone at the event!

The 4 important elements of a professional MC

01.

Presentation

As MCs we will be “in the spotlight” for most of your event, presentation is important, and our attire should compliment your event, not “overshadow” yourself and your guests.  Equally important to physical presentation is how we present in personality.

02.

Engagement

Using our voice to not only gain attention but to engage the guests while introducing the next formal moment. Considering some guests may be international, it’s important to articulate words clearly and in simple English not complex words that need a dictionary to understand.

03.

Communication

This includes guiding your guests through the course of your event, communicating formalities, updating you (our clients), prepping speakers for speeches, coordinating other vendors such as photographers and checking in with the venue manager to ensure meal courses are on schedule.

04.

Control

Equally as important as the first 3 elements, is keeping tight control of your event, especially the Run-Sheet (schedule of the event) because it’s very easy for a lot of little delays to add up to an hour lost, and that could mean an hour less for the FUN part, such as the dance floor!

Three Levels of MC Services Available

TIER — 01

Premium MC

A highly experienced MC Service that brings an additional level of personality as well as incorporating personal touches to your wedding or event by including planned, customised elements into the way your event will be hosted.

TIER — 02

Dedicated MC

As “Dedicated” MC Service we provide a separate experienced MC and a separate experienced wedding/event DJ (two people) who work together in sync and bounce off each other when needed to keep your wedding or event dynamic and engaging.

TIER — 03

Combined DJ MC

Our Combined DJ & MC Service is run by one of our top-tier, Premium DJs who also double as your MC for your wedding or event.  This type of sort-after service is becoming rare in the event industry as more DJs shy away from public speaking.

An MC is not a comedian but it doesn't mean we can't make your guests laugh.

Wanna Play Games?

Depending on your priorities and Run-Sheet schedule, interactive games can be a great way to keep your guests entertained until the dancing starts, examples include:
  • “The Shoe Game”, for weddings, is a hilarious way to keep your guests in stitches at your expense, all in good fun of course. (Allow up to 15mins)
  • “Scavenger Hunt Game”, can be used for many types of events, especially weddings and corporate events where guests may be seated for long periods. (Allow up to 20mins)

What's The Difference Between a Professional MC and my "Uncle George"?

So you’re thinking… “Uncle George is always funny at family gatherings, and he loves to talk a lot, I’m sure he would be a good MC for our wedding”

Our Professional MCs will always be dressed in attire that is appropriate for your style of event while also not outshining you!

Our Professional MCs know how to use a microphone correctly so everyone can hear.

Our Professional MCs never drink alcohol while "working" and will stick to water, juice or softdrinks.

Our Professional MCs "watch the clock" while continually checking the timeline to make sure things are running to schedule and adjust accordingly.

Our Professional MCs check in with the venue catering to make sure meals are served on time as scheduled. If there's any delays with catering we recalculate the timeline and keep you updated.

Our Professional MCs in keeping with the timeline of your run-sheet, we identify who will be giving speeches so we can give them a 15min heads up and prep them the right way to speak into a microphone so everyone will hear their speech clearly

Our Professional MCs communicate and coordinate with the venue and other vendors, such as your photographer, giving them a heads up that your "first dance" is in 20mins, so they can set up their equipment.

Our Professional MCs will make changes to get your event on track due to any unavoidable lost time like meals being behind schedule so that you can still have the 'dance floor time" you wanted and expected.

Uncle George doesn't own a suit and doesn't feel comfortable wearing one, but he's very proud of his very classy "silver" Adidas jacket!

Uncle George says he can use his "outside voice" and he will only use microphones for karaoke.

Uncle George loves a beer or six and loves the thought of an open bar! It's not fair that he can't drink, right?

Uncle George had the printed copy of the run-sheet you gave him but lost it some where an hour ago, he'll go & check if he left it at the bar while he gets another beer.

Uncle George didn't know that the meals have fallen 30mins behind, but since there's no food coming out yet it's a great opportunity to take advantage of that open bar and have a chat with the cute barmaid.

Uncle George was reminded by the DJ that it's time for speeches, so he finishes his beer and, before announcing who will be making speeches, decides it's the perfect time for one of his funny 25min stories... oh how we love his stories.

Uncle George heard from the DJ that your "first dance" was meant to be 30mins ago, so he finishes his beer and announces your first dance while your photographer is eating his vendor meal... better luck next time?

Uncle George has unfortunately lost 1-hour and 45mins of time because he forgot his watch and still wasn't able to find that printed copy of the run-sheet you gave him, leaving only an hour & a half for the dance floor.
